Stargazing
The Langness peninsula is an area of special scientific interest (ASSI), not just for its unique geology and wildlife, but because of the clarity with which it is possible to see the stunning star-studded sky. The Island’s twenty six officially recognised dark sky sites means the Isle of Man has the largest concentration of dark sky sites in Britain – and some of the clearest skies in all of Europe.
The Northern Lights make a frequent appearance; the BBC has documented the Island as one of the best places from which to view the spectacular natural light display. Curl up under a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa as you enjoy the constellations from the comfort of the lighthouse cottages.
